Introduction to the Project
Chantiers de l'Atlantique, based in Saint-Nazaire for over a century, is renowned for its passion for major maritime projects, from majestic liners to green naval innovations. In recent years, a new dynamic has taken hold in the workshops and offices of this historic site: the desire to promote soft mobility among its employees. With such a vast site and a growing number of workers choosing to cycle to work, the need for a secure bike shelter became obvious.
Partnership with ByCommute
Inspired by their own commitment to sustainability, Chantiers de l'Atlantique decided to go beyond a simple bicycle storage solution. They chose ByCommute to design a shelter from a recycled shipping container. A symbolic choice, combining their love of the sea with a strong ecological approach: giving a second life to a container once used to transport goods across the oceans.
