Cycling in Fort de France

In Fort-de-France, Martinique, the Direction de l'environnement, de l'aménagement et du logement (DEAL) organized a morning of introduction to electric bikes for its employees. The project is part of a partnership with the city of Fort-de-France to build a bicycle path between the Pointe de Jaham and the prefecture. Cyril Liroy, head of the transport, mobility and safety department at DEAL, explains that the initiative aims to encourage decarbonization and well-being. The city of Fort-de-France has also won a call for projects for a cycling section, with work due to start in 2024.
